The Second EU-CELAC Academic and Knowledge Summit will take place in Santiago de Compostela on June 25 and 26 of this year. More than 500 participants from universities across Ibero-America and the European Union, as well as institutional and political representatives, will come together at the City of Culture in Santiago.

The Summit will continue the open dialogue which began in El Salvador in 2017 regarding the construction of a bi-regional space for education, science, technology, and innovation.

It will encourage debate and reflection regarding certain determining factors for the strengthening of bi-regional integration of higher education and scientific institutions in the Euro-Latin American and Caribbean space.

The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) will host this second international summit, which was organized in collaboration with the Regional Government of Galicia (la Xunta de Galicia), the University of Vigo (Uvigo), the University of A Coruña (UDC), the CELAC-EU University Council, the Ibero-American Secretariat General (SEGIB), and the Ibero-American University Council (CUIB).

The Summit’s objective is to encourage cooperation and inclusive development of higher education, the exchange of knowledge and innovation, and the transfer of technology.
